1. This fellow wrote a book called "The Great Boer War" in 1900 and he was decorated for his efforts in the same war with knighthood in 1902. His knighthood is often wrongly credited for some other stuff he did...Who is he..

2. India once had an obscure legspinner called Sairaj Bahutule in its playing 11. I guess he still plays domestic cricket. It so happens that he was involved in a car crash in which some kin of a famous someone X died. This devastated X and he came out with something he was really good at as a homage to his dead kin. Identify X.
